On Saturday 16th about 20 of us wore aprons and had the privilege to watch Chef Luigi of Al Tiramisu give us a great experience with Italian cooking. This is the first class in a series and the experience was focused on learning about the food of Sicily. Chef Luigi chose 3 dishes and told us that he had chosen them for their simplicity and something that we could all try to make at home. Al Tiramisu has been open for about 15 years and coincidentally also the Italian Republic’s 150 the anniversary.
Luigi held us all spellbound as he told us about childhood memories of Italy as he cajoled some of us to be assistants and participate in the cooking.
On Menu were three dishes :
- Pasta Sformata Alla Siciliana
- Sardine Beccafico
- Seppie Ripiene ( Stuffed cuttlefish)
After the food was ready we got a nice 101 on Sicilian Wines

As one of my friends commented to me” I took that class. Totally worth the cash, because you get a great lunch that would have cost you about the same if you didn't take the class :)”
