I love the Zagat survey one of the pioneers for consumer generated restaurant surveys. This week Zagat partnered withSmartbox USA, the world leader in gift experiences, to introduce the Zagat Smartbox “Table for Two.” Washington DC is among the cities that this "Table for Two" gift is available in and I believe the cost is $99.
When I worked in the hotel and restaurant business , often we would get calls from relatives asking to buy gift certificates to send to their kin living in our area. This involved some complicated logistics, of course this was a few years ago. I think this is a brilliant idea.
"A perfect gift solution this holiday season, the ZagatSmartbox ($99) has taken the guesswork out of gift giving. Inside each Zagat Smartbox, recipients will find a gift card valid for a three-course dinner for two, and a city-specific catalog of 35-plus participating Zagat-Rated restaurants from which to choose their dining experience. Here’s how it works: the recipient picks one of the packages offered in the catalog, reserves directly with the restaurant and presents the Smartbox gift card upon arrival." says the Zagat press release
The Zagat Smartbox can be purchased at major retailers including JC Penny, Meijer, Sam’s Club and online at Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com and Smartbox.com. More info at thttp://www.zagatsmartbox.com
