I walked in to this newly opened place on a cold wintery day to get some nice hot Chinese soup. Hot and sour for us and Chicken Noodle soup for the toddler. Very friendly staff. The Oriental Cafe is built for carry out as they have a reasonably large kitchen and have a good party menu and few seats for actually sitting and eating. Their price is definitely a bargain for people looking for a place to grab a bite in the Rockville side of Shady Grove road.
I liked the fact that they have a “Create your own personal” Tofu dish for $7.95 with a choice of two vegetables and your choice of the sauce. This is a luxury for vegetarians who very often are relegated to ordering dishes without the meat.
Another reason to give this a try is that we need to encourage more local entrepreneurs and make them successful. This place is close to the Universities at Shady Grove.
