San Francisco Airport Victorian Kitchen Exhibit

As i walked out of the Virgin Atlantic arrival hall at San Francisco I was thrilled to see exhibits of cooking utensils of different sizes and shapes. I would have stayed and taken more pictures and missed my opportunity. Maybe i will go early to take more pictures.

fly with the airline that pampers you

I am once again on a southwest flight trying to do my "Is the coffee got in seat 24 survey". In southwest the coffee is always hot, they have 3 crew and they dont use a trolley so the coffee is hot. I am not tired of talking about the funny announcements the crew makes and has all of up in stitches. I wonder who in southwest took this remarkable step to let the crew create their own announcements. Did he/she face opposition. Does southwest measure the success by the decibels of laughter?
The bottom line is people do business with companies vex like and southwest is definitely luvable. Their all you can eat snack pack buffet on board is positive when compared to the sorry you have to say for water look on us airways. Keep the jokes and snacks coming southwest

National Postal Museum : What to tell the mailman when going on vacation

The National Postal Museum is right next to the Union Station - This is a picture from one of the exhibits. I like going to the museum but sadly have to wait for the younger kid to grow up.

Maybe we can have a meetup at the NAtional Postal Museum ? Peter Corbett - you can make it happen.

Beer aisle Trader Joes Reston VA

The economy may be in a rut, but a new study shows American’s are as thirsty as ever for craft beers.

If you are looking for a brew from India the Trader Joes in Reston is a good place to get KingFisher from.

Bangalore India - crab masala and rice

Don't know why I thought of this at lunch time today. This picture was taken by me in Aug 2008 when I was in Bangalore and had dinner at An Authentic Konkani Cuisine restaurant KANUA off Sarjapur Road

See the review by this Blogger :
http://pleasuremountain.wordpress.com/2007/11/15/kanua-and-legend-of-sikandar/

The cuisine is southern Konkani, so the food is related to the Mangalorean restaurants I posted about in Mumbai. (Though the restaurant does include at least one northern Konkani dish.) I found it to be remarkably different than those places, though, with a brightness, simplicity and elegance that the coastal joints lacked. Food is cooked in earthenware pots. Rice and vegetables are grown specifically for Kanua, and they only use produce which is natural to the region. I don’t know how much of this is BS, but the food is exquisite.

The flavors include coconut, jaggery, tamarind and chilli. It’s sweet and hot. Or rich and sour. Or both, but lush.

Grand Canyon Railway Steam Engines gone ?

My toddler loves to see this video at least 2 to 3 times a week.I was looking for some info on how to got to Williams AZ and see the Grand Canyon on this train and my search brought up this discussion on the Grand Canyon Railway in a forum called Train Board

I was hoping to go there with the family suring the Christmas holidays. Have you been on this train ? If you have visited the Grand Canyon - how was your experience? What advice do you have for family travel to the Grand Canyon?

Use keywords to lose weight

I was reading an interesting post on Linda Sherman's Blog How to order well and lose weight. You should read the entire post to get the good stuff but here is a preview list

Don’t Order List Key Menu Words:

Butter (butter sauce, cooked in butter)
Fried (the only exception is fried tofu)
Pasta
Rice (with the exception of brown rice)
Cream
Bread (includes buns, sandwich bread, croutons and phylo wrappings)
Tortilla
Cheese
White Potato
Sauce (caution for anything with the word sauce – ASK if it is heavy)
Dessert: except for fresh fruit, tell them you don’t need a dusting of sugar
Corn
Go easy on beans
Go easy on salad dressing

I have met Linda and now I know the secret of her health. :)
